A beautiful whimsical knit for a very pretty cape, perfect for wearing through all seasons of the year, with one size fitting most.
Knit in Sumptuous, by The Woven, a lovely soft yarn developed with the pretty colour combinations in mind.
I love the way that the bright Aquamarine and Blush turn almost neon against the moodiness of Rain
Named Catherine, after the heroine in a wonderful Scottish folktale about a girl who saves a prince in exchange for a cure for her sister. The Catherine Cape is knit flat on 6mm needles and fits most sizes. Knitting it on a slightly larger needle size makes it soft and supple, and allows the edge to fall in a gentle corrugated pleat without any tweaking.
This pattern is suitable for intermediate knitters, it has stranded colour work and making a stitch by knitting into the front and back, is the only technical stitch needed. You’ll need to be comfortable reading and following a pattern.
This pattern was developed as an original pattern by Philippa Jane.
